My First Blog!!!!

Well I have finally jumped on the blog band wagon.  I have honestly been contemplating starting a blog for months.  After watching and reading several of my friends blogs, I thought "What am I waiting for?" so, here it is folks, my first blog.

A thought just occurred to me, I said folks, as if someone other than myself will be reading this...what if no one reads my posts... hmmm well that remains to be determined.  In the meantime I am going to write.

I discovered today that I'm not as young as I once thought and my nearly perfect vision, that I have had for decades is not so perfect and I need glasses.  I went throught the exam with a series of routine tests, all the while trying quite hard to say the "right" letters as if it were a major exam. On a couple of occassions I provided multiple letters in an effort to say the correct one as they changed their shape the harder I focused.  Then the Doctor changed the lens I was looking through the letters either became much clearer or more blurry.  When the lenses changed to make the letters clear, I could actually make out the smallest letters without making multiple guesses.

Isn't it funny that you can go years, even decades assuming your vision is quite normal  but when you look through a different lens you see things differently.  The Holy Spirit is much like the Doctor today, when we sit still long enough and allow him to shine his light in our lives he shows us things we never saw before.  I am now aware of my need for corrective lenses as I am typing this blog, I am starting to squint and the words are a little blurry.  You see before today I would have thought I needed more light on my typing area, or I'm gettting tired, or I just need a new iMac in stead of my macbook (laptop).  I would have prefered the last option but instead I am getting something I never thought I needed, glasses.

Renee just told me about your blog and I had to read it immediately and I am glad I did. You nailed it. Really. Just what the Doctor ordered. Pun intended. Please continue this journey. You are already making a difference.Later. Todd.
